This was an astonishing week, with yet another political earthquake in the UK, the US 10-year yield reaching 4.2% on no obvious catalyst, and the yen touching a 32-year low and then shooting up, presumably on intervention which is adding to the rates watchersâ worries.

Consumer trends changing banking
Markâs wish of getting a car as easy as ordering something from Amazon became a reality.
This story exemplifies three big consumer trends impacting financial services firms. The first one is personalisation, providing the right offer to the right customer at the right time. Itâs as if Lauren and Markâs text conversation also included Toyota. The second trend is embedded finance. Whatever triggered the personalisation was further enabled by Toyotaâs capability to pre-approve and offer a loan, cutting out banks or credit unions before they even knew Mark and Lauren might be in the market for a loan provider. Finally, digital ubiquity facilitated the whole chain of events.

In this episode of One Vision, we chat with Alaric Aloor, CEO and Co-Founder of Archonsec, and advisor for MATR Ventures, about the benefits and perils of technology. In a world of fractured conversations, sound argument is becoming a lost art and insanity can be contagious.
